Synopsis
Entering a new phase of climate change, adaptation and resilience are now as urgent as emissions reduction. Drawing on her extensive international leadership—including her roles as IPCC WGII Co-Chair and core team member of UNEP’s Overshoot Spotlight Report—Professor Debra Roberts will discuss how Hong Kong can translate emerging global knowledge into large-scale implementation.
The evening features opening remarks delivered by Ir. Michael Fong, Director of Civil Engineering and Development. This event will share the key insights gained from ‘Hong Kong International Nature-based Solutions Action Week 2026’, setting out practical next steps for moving beyond isolated pilot projects to scale high-integrity NbS across the city and how nature-based solutions can address the climate risk that Hong Kong is facing.
*This is a satellite event of Hong Kong Green Week 2026.
