Our Council

The Council shall consider, report and act on policies, legislation and administration of the Institute, put into effect the votes of the Institute, be the custodian of all its assets, adopt the budget, approve nominees for office, create and abolish committees, confer awards and citations.

Education & CPD

The major duty areas of the Education Committee are to promote professional
development and organize and monitor the Institute’s Professional Practice
Examination, including establishing and processing examination entry
requirements and procedures. The Committee also advises the Council on
academic qualifications required to the various membership categories of the
Institute.

Practice Committee

The major duty of the Practice Committee is to promote the highest standards of professional competence by defining standards and advising members on how to achieve them. The Committee represents the Institute and members to present views to the government and/or the public on matters related to the practice of landscape architecture. The Committee also reviews internal procedures and mechanisms in the HKILA and examines the future development of landscape architecture in Hong Kong.

Functions & Events Committee

To propose, organize and implement events and functions approved by the Council, including arrange an Annual Dinner to be held around November of each year, and other public and social events and functions as related to landscape architecture.

Public Affairs

To form and advocate professional views and position of HKILA on landscape and other social issues.
