Neighbourhood Innovation Lab believes in engaging and co-creating with communities to address spatial issues and seek to understand how to shape our neighbourhoods and cultivate neighbourly identity through an inclusive, human-centred design approach. The Architectural Services Department has commissioned Neighbourhood Innovation Lab by Architecture Commons and One Bite Design Studio to initiate POSsible! Public Open Space (POS) Design Lab, which is a project to promote design thinking and innovation for POS in Hong Kong. This project aspires to spark a multi-stakeholder conversation to equip practitioners with a design thinking mindset in designing POS in the future, with two series of design thinking workshops and a symposium with local and international panelists. The project is advised by Hong Kong Design Centre and sponsored by CreateHK.

Architectural Services Department will be conducting the POSsible! Weeks under the POSsible! project in mid-August to early September 2022, featuring POSsible! Given the importance of sustainable POS development and management, Design Thinking Workshop Series 2 aims to invite professionals, government officials, businesses, NGO representatives to test the draft POSsible! Design Guide and POSsible! Design Thinking Toolkit through tackling simulated real world scenarios under six (6) sessions of design “hack-a-thon”, to be hosted by local and international experts.
