Description

Synopsis:
Owing to the substantial amount of capital outlay and great complexity of works, there are inherent corruption risks in the letting and administration of construction contracts.

Landscape Architects, who are one of the key players in these contracts, may therefore face integrity challenges from time to time. In this seminar, the speaker will enunciate the bribery laws in Hong Kong, illustrate the major corruption risks of construction projects with past cases and introduce the corresponding preventive measures with a view to assisting Landscape Architects to avoid corruption pitfalls and enhancing their awareness of corruption prevention.

About the Speaker:
Ms. Maria Lo (BEng(CVL), MHKIE, CEng, MICE) is the Chief Corruption Prevention Officer of the Corruption Prevention Department, ICAC and is a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Ms. Lo has extensive experience in advising government departments, public bodies and private organisations on corruption risks and preventive measures concerning their systems and procedures.
