Synopsis 概述
The Lai Chi Wo Rural Cultural Landscape was awarded the UNESCO Special Recognition for Sustainable Development for its pioneering approach to rural sustainability, addressing economic, social and environmental dimensions in the holistic rejuvenation of the historic Hakka agricultural settlement using nature-based solutions.
This ancient Hakka village in the New Territories is now lauded for its revitalized Feng Shui woodlands, restored God of War temple, and lush mangrove habitat. About 60,000 square metres of abandoned farmland was transformed, making Lai Chi Wo a model for eco-agriculture and community revitalisation.
This tour highlights the ecological and cultural history of Lai Chi Wo, as well as the Lai Chi Wo Village Gardens which was designed by our registered practice 2 Square Metres (The project just won the 2024 Good Design Award), drawing the attention to the rural revitalization scheme and its value to landscape professionals.
荔枝窩鄉郊文化景觀利用以大自然為本的保育方式, 使300 年歷史的客家農村生活文化在經濟、社會及環境方面均得到可持續發展, 並榮獲聯合國教科文組織頒發「可持續發展特 別貢獻獎」。
荔枝窩客家圍村位處新界東北, 背山面海, 按風水格局而建, 圍村面向吉澳海, 被茂盛壯觀的風水林與紅樹林包圍。村裡有「協天宮」供奉關公, 保佑合境平安。荔枝窩的復耕計劃將約6萬平方米廢棄農地恢復至適合發展生態農業, 並振興荔枝窩社區, 為鄉郊保育的典範。
是次導賞團透過重點介绍荔枝窩的生態和文化歷史, 以及由學會註冊事務所2 Square Metres設計的荔枝窩鄉村花園 (該項目則贏得本年度的Good Design Award), 引起人們對鄉村保育的關注, 及其對園境專業人士的價值。

The hike tour will take approximately 4 hours with short breaks. The tour fee includes the transport fee from Lai Chi Wo to Sha Tau Kok only. Participants are advised to bring their own lunch and sufficient water.
