Landscape Architecture Advisor

Overview

Architecture Commons seeks a highly experienced Landscape Architecture Advisor to provide expert technical guidance and strategic design oversight for large-scale urban and community landscape projects. The successful candidate will leverage deep industry knowledge to advise on complex design solutions, ensure technical feasibility, and mentor junior design staff.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory: Provide high-level technical and design advice on public housing, residential, and community landscape projects.
  • Design Oversight: Supervise the preparation of conceptual and detailed design packages, including hard and soft landscape specifications and tender documentation.
  • Technical Compliance: Ensure all designs meet local regulatory standards and environmental goals, fostering both aesthetic beauty and environmental benefits.
  • Team Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert to guide and mentor the design team, ensuring innovative and responsive landscape solutions.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Use strong communication skills to coordinate with architects, surveyors, and external government bodies.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related architectural field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience as a practicing landscape architect.
  • Technical Skills:
  1. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and PowerPoint.
  2. Knowledge of Building Information Model (BIM) is highly preferred.
  3. Strong background in planning, design, and contract administration.
  • Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, proactive initiative, and the ability to solve complex design challenges.
