Call for Entries and Evaluation Guidelines
The ” Asian Townscape Awards ” was jointly established in 2010 by international organizations such as the UN-HABITAT’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and the Asian Habitat Society Over the past 15 years, 159 cities or projects from 14 countries or regions, including China (Hong Kong, Macao), Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal, Vietnam, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines, have received the annual ” Asian Townscape Award.” Additionally, 18 projects from 11 countries—China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Malaysia—have been honored with the annual “Asian Townscape Best Practice” title.
To further align the landscape design and management practices in the he Greater Bay Area with international standards and to deepen exchanges and collaborations, the Asian Habitat Society has initiated the “International Bay Area Landscape Awards” as a selection competition for the ” Asian Townscape Awards ” in the Greater Bay Area.

II. Entry Requirements
1. Projects must be located within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
2. For individual awards (excluding the Lifetime Achievement Award), applicants must be individual members of the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects or the Shenzhen Landscape Architecture Society, and their affiliated institutions must be institutional members.
III. Eligible Applicants
1. Local governments or administrative bodies;
2. Non-governmental organizations and associations;
3. Universities and academic research institutions;
4. Design, marketing, planning agencies, and developers;
5. Other relevant organizations or individuals (must participate fairly and demonstrate social responsibility).
IV. Award Categories
1. International Bay Area Landscape Awards (Project-Based)
Divided into 8 categories:
• Urban Renewal and Regeneration
• Public Spaces and Facilities
• Cultural Preservation and Heritage
• Ecological Conservation and Restoration
• Resilient Cities and Sustainable Development
• Urban Operations and Revitalization
• Technological Innovation and Application
• Analysis/Research and Planning
Each project may apply for only one category. Awards will be granted at four levels: Outstanding Award, Excellence Award, Honorary Award, and Finalist. Shortlisted projects must submit supplementary video materials for final review.
2. International Bay Area Landscape Individual Awards

V. Evaluation Process
1. Submission (June 16 – July 31, 2025)
2. Results Review (July 31, 2025 – September 29, 2025)
VI. Application Fees
1. Application Fee: HKD 500 per project
Exemption: Applicants who provide proof of membership in either the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) or the Shenzhen Landscape Architecture Society (SLAS) may submit their applications free of charge. Acceptable proof includes: membership number, membership certificate, or a membership confirmation letter stamped by the respective institute—any one of these documents is sufficient.
2. Award Service Fee (applicable after the announcement of results):
Projects that receive any of the following awards will be required to pay an additional service fee:
• Outstanding Award: HKD 2,000 per project
• Excellence Award: HKD 1,500 per project
• Honorary Award: HKD 1,000 per project
