Neighbourhood Innovation Lab has been on behalf of the Architectural Services Department and invites us to join the upcoming Symposium of our POSsible! Public Open Space Design Lab (“POSsible!”) initiative.
The upcoming POSsible! Weeks, featuring POSsible! Design Thinking Workshop Series 2 and an international symposium, constitutes the most important part of this design thinking empowerment journey, picking up on insights collected from the previous POSsible! Design Thinking Workshop Series 1 for further development and in-depth exploration. An international line-up of global and local design veterans will be invited to share their experiences and insights on POS spanning 5 dialogue topics, with invited online and offline guests of 500 target participants. The symposium comes in both offline seating and online viewing, and it is divided into the morning session of POSsible! Symposium and the afternoon session of POSsible! Lab, with a subsequent Tools Experiment available only to offline participants.
The expected outcomes of the symposium are as follows :
1. To bring various stakeholders together to exchange ideas and innovate together;
2. To promote awareness of the importance of social innovation and community engagement for POS;
3. To initiate professional dialogues focusing on critical issues for future POS
development, allowing relevant parties to generate timely responses;
4. To promote the use of design thinking in designing POS for public and private development projects;
5. To encourage various government departments and private developers of POS to adopt a design thinking
approach for existing and future POS;
6. To promote the POSsible! Design Guide and POSsible! Design Thinking Toolkit through participatory
approach as a framework for guiding sustainable POS development in light of the dynamic challenges
ahead.
