One of the many hurdles for landscape architects who wish to adopt a BIM workflow in their practice is the lack of a unified vegetation library to leverage off. Acknowledging this problem, a research project involving the National Parks Board (NParks), the National University of Singapore (NUS) and A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) was conceived to develop a species-level BIM vegetation library that is applicable for the Singapore context yet flexible enough to be used across different BIM authoring software platforms.
This sharing and feedback session, co-hosted by the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA), is meant to demonstrate the developments the team has made after more than 2 years of research and more importantly to gather feedback from practitioners and other stakeholders to discuss the possibilities of using of the BIM vegetation library in the landscape industry.
